We assess all adult patients having planned surgery under general, spinal or regional anaesthetic and, on average, we assess 200 patients per week.
A thorough pre-operative assessment is really important to make sure planned surgery goes ahead without complication and that the patient makes a good recovery.
We assess risks, make referrals and liaise with various teams to make sure patients receive exceptional care and their existing health conditions are optimised prior to surgery.
